Introduction

Nitrous Oxide – Pain and Anxiety free concept. Breathing nitrous oxide will put a smile on your face from the moment you get onto the dental chair. This is absolutely safe and is a highly effective method of patient relaxation and calming. As you try nitrous oxide, your feelings of anxiety will slowly fade and be replaced by a warm, gentle feeling.

What is Nitrous Oxide?

Nitrous oxide is also sometimes called as “laughing gas”. It is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. It gives you a calm, relaxed, comfortable and anxiety free dental treatment.

How does it work?

When inhaled and absorbed into the body, nitrous oxide has a natural calming effect that lasts only as long as your dental procedure. You will be breathing normally through your nose, and within a few short minutes you should start to feel the effects of the nitrous oxide. Patient describes the experience as floating or pleasant dream-like state.  Ultimately, you should feel calm and comfortable.

Is it Safe?

It is mild, non-toxic and the effects of nitrous oxide wears off as soon as the mask is removed. Therefore, it is very safe for both adults and children. It is not intended to put you to sleep. You will be able to hear and respond to any requests or directions.

It could be used on both adult and children. We want all our patient to have a fearless dental treatment in a relaxed, calm and soothing manner.
